Today’s solar eclipse is associated with money, love and relationship stresses. Sit with, and breathe through any strong emotions. Between December 16 and December 20, Venus and Juno move into Sagittarius, Chiron goes Direct in Aries, Saturn and Jupiter go into Aquarius. Air fans Fire, ideas leap into action, further fueled by Sun conjunct Mercury at the end of Sagittarius. The Sun, centre of our solar system, symbolises the diverse ways we express ourselves, while quicksilver messenger Mercury represents our different styles of communicating. These two have us reaching for our loftiest goals when they go into Capricorn on the 21st. The very next day a major astrological event happens with Jupiter exactly conjunct Saturn on 0˚ of Aquarius.

Jupiter Saturn conjunctions happen every 20 years. Jupiter equals expansion, abundance, growth, and risk-taking, while Saturn equals limitation, caution, responsibilities, and fear. Conjunction aspects signal unity, times when energies work well together. This combo means we can be careful, willing to hold back enough to make wise, rather than risky, decisions, and choices. For over two centuries, this conjunction has usually coincided with socio-economic "up" periods, while a Jupiter Saturn opposition has often been associated with socio-economic "down" periods. Every 230 years, this conjunction repeats in the same element, but since the 1980's we have been moving from a 230 year elemental Earth cycle into a 230 year elemental Air cycle. This shift is known astrologically as a a great mutation.

Earth signs represent the physical world, including money, land, and our bodies. In the years preceding the 1980's, this cycle was used to predict bear/bull trends in the stock market. Now we are on the cusp of radical change. Air signs represent ideas, beliefs, communications, thinking, and technology. Aquarian matters are conscious awareness, freedom, equality, and meaningful contribution to the future of humanity. Because this current Jupiter Saturn conjunction takes place at the very beginning of Aquarius, it contains innocence, inexperience, and loads of idealism. Saturn adds caution to Jupiter's enthusiasm.
